Hi, I’m Heather. Today I’m going to share with you an idea I have for our upcoming trip to Disney World. The last time we went, we had the characters sign Autograph Books. The kids have rarely looked at them since. This time around, I wanted our kids to have a keepsake that is meaningful and useful. So, I decided to make personalized pillowcases using Heat Transfer Vinyl and have the characters sign those instead.
Materials Needed:
- 2 White Pillowcases
- 1 Sheet of 12×24 Black Siser Easyweed Heat Transfer Vinyl
- 1 Sheet of 12×12 Pink Siser Easyweed Heat Transfer Vinyl
- 1 Sheet of 12×12 Red Siser Easyweed Heat Transfer Vinyl
- Heat Press or Iron
I began this project by creating my design using my silhouette machine. I made a Mickey Mouse face and enlarged it.
Then, I wrote my son’s name using the “Walter” font to go underneath.
I did the same thing for my daughter’s, but also added the bow for Minnie Mouse.
When using Heat Transfer Vinyl, don’t forget to mirror your image before you cut it out. The shiny side of the vinyl faces down on the mat.
Once you’ve cut your design, you are ready to press it to your fabric either using an iron or heat press.
I can’t wait to have all the Disney characters sign their pillowcases and have them remember all the fun times we had on our trip while they drift off to sleep every night!
